help with aggressive dog?
Q. I am currently fostering a 7month old german shepherd cross. He is very well house trained and is a very quick learner when it comes to obedience. My only problem is he is not good with other dogs. Occasionally he will snap at my dog - who is a very quiet 8year old bitch, for no apparent reason. If we tell him no (in the house) he does back off. Now, i've only had him a week, but yesterday i took him for a walk with some other dogs and he got into THREE fights. The first was with a collie cross, who is also being fostered by a friend so he could have his own issues but he had been fine until my dog started barking and lunging at him. A. Your best bet on a walk is to keep moving forward. Do not indulge the dog's desire to stop and interact with other dogs. Keep moving forward until the dog is very tired, then you might think about allowing interaction between him and other dogs. Take your dog along for the walk so the foster knows correct behaviour.

Q. YES,they DO exist so don't say they don't!proof: i am wanting a dog but the only one i want is a utonagan.i love German shepherds and huskeys but a utonagan is right for me and my family-but, where can i get one in NZ?please help! any links to a NZ website to buy one is great!!thanks.

The reason, according to an anonymous witness: Duke barked when he wasn't supposed to, so Cockfield hoisted the four-year-old German shepherd by the leash around his neck and repeatedly kicked him in a fit of rage until he lost consciousness. A. Thank you for that link. I signed the petition and appreciate your calling it to my attention. As far as I am concerned, officers of the law are supposed to serve and protect and obviously that is not the priority if none of the other officers intervened to stop this horrific act. He had to have beaten this dog severely to have killed it! I hope he gets maximum penalty under the law and since it's a felony he should be ousted from the Police Dept. He is every bit as guilty as Michael Vick and this should have made the news across the country like the Michael Vick case did.
